Browser Hang-up

I'm not sure how to word my question, but here goes. How do I get rid of the last page of browsing, so when I open the browser again, it opens to my google "home page?" For example: if I pull up a news page to read, then click on additional links of interest, I keep having to hit the back button, wait for the page to reload, before hitting the back button again in order to get away from said web page; otherwise, every time I open up my browser, I'm back to the last viewed page with no ability to close it out by the search button (only add bookmark & refresh icon there). I find this annoying. Even when I clear history or go through bookmarks to take me back to google, each time the browser opens again, it's back to the last viewed page despite exiting browser from the google search page. Does that make sense? Hitting the back button repeatedly often hangs-up as well w/ the msg that 'this info has already been submitted' (or something like that). I end up having to reboot the phone. The seemless moving in & out of browser & apps with ICS is something I do miss, but I'm hopeful y'all can help me. Thanks so much!

in the stock browser.... choose menu/choose windows/touch the red symbol of all listed and it will default back to your home page. Then close or back out (one time). I agree its annoying.
