i sort of did this a little bit differently then the install guide

on my sister's Droid X
1. sbf phone to 2.2.1
2. reboot on phone recovery
3. wipe data and cache
4. update from the phone to 2.3.3 gb 4.5.605
5. root with pete's
6. side wonder machine the rom manager and droid 2 recovery
7. run rom manager flash and then run d2 recovery with both superuser permission
8. recovery mode then wipe data, cache and dalvisk? data
9. install from sdcard, install zip, and reboot.
10. boot loop

have i done something wrong somewhere in the process?
everything worked when i rooted. checked barnacles and the superuser gave all permissions.
i also read that i have to mount something berfore i reboot
can someone help?

This may or may not help but sometimes it I would get a boot loop on my X, I would just do a battery pull. If that doesn't work, try another data wipe in recovery.

Finally, just to make sure.... not to insult your intelligence.... but the Rom you flashed its compatible with your current version right?

What part of the forums?

If you did a backup before flashing the Rom and you can still get into cw recovery, you can restore your backup.

If you have no backup, but you can get into cw recovery, you can try to while process again, wiping and flashing.

If none of that works and you are in a continuous boot loop you have no choice but to use rsd and flash back to stock again as far as I know.

i hope it works but yea i didnt have backup so i just sbf it and start the process over again.

downloading the liberty 3 v 2.0 from the toolbox.
will this fix the problem with the boot loop?

another question: what does it mean when it says the official ota gingerbread?

According to what I read it says that liberty3 v2.0 it's based off system version 605 so sd long add your phone is running 2.3.3 and 605, you should be good.

Edit... missed the second question as the bottom at first...

Ota stands for "over the air" basically droid x usually canned out of the box with froyo 2.2.1 or something like that. And those users had to accept their official upgrade to gingerbread (gb) 2.3.3
