Bluettoh Issue in my 2010 VW Jetta Wagon

Hi Group - This is my first post...I look forward to any replies....thanks in advance.....Joe

I have a 2010 VW Jetta Wagon.....Prior to my Samsung Galaxy S3 I had a Blackberry Storm and had no issues with the bluetooth. I purchased my new Galaxy S3 and love it. I had no issues getting it paired with my VM but I have noticed that when the phone is paired the radio will stop with each text or email I receive, just as it would if I received a phone call. This is a big source of frustration as music, podcasts etc etc constantly get interrupted.

If anyone has any advice or suggested I would love to hear them....

Have a great weekend everyone!

Wife has the same issue in her Passat. Would be curious to know if there's a way around this also.

Welcome to Droid Forums!! Not sure about your question, hope you are able to get it working.

Does the music resume after the notification. When you paired the phone was there an option to "allow MAP access" or something to that effect? If so, you can delete the pairing and re-pair without allowing the messages to be transferred to the car. (don't allow the MAP access) (Fyi MAP is an acronym for Message Access Profile)
Or, there may be a notification setting with the car. My Ford gives me a small notification sound and then the music immediately returns and there is a little envelope on the corner of the Sync screen. I guess I don't get enough texts for it to be annoying.

Finlly found the source of the issue.....

So I think I found the root cause.....if you go into settings - bluetooth and then see the list of paired devices. I have one called VW UHV. Right next to that there is a "settings" symbol. If you hit that up coming a profile and in the profile there are two boxes to check. One is called "call audio" and the other is called "media audio." I had both options checked....this must be the default when a device is paired. I unchecked the box for media audio and the problem seems to be solved. I hope this helps....Thanks for the replies everyone.
