bluetooth not auto connecting?

In my pervious phone life I was able to use my bluetooth ear piece whenever I turned on my blutooth. Now for some reason with my Droid I have th pair each time. Its weird my Droid sees my bluetooth it says "paired but not connected". I've tested with 3 known good headsets. Its annoying having to pair each time.. am I doing something wrong? Or is this something I should expect moving to android platform?

Sometimes repeating the pairing fixes that. It's happened to me too.
