"With BlindType, users can type on the touch screen the way they are used to, but without the traditional need to constantly focus on the keyboard. Although this would typically lead to countless spelling mistakes that would be impossible to autocorrect, BlindType predicts what the user intended to write with a success rate not previously seen on any other system."
That's straight from the site. It looks neat. I don't get how it's predicting what he is going to type based how bad the typing was in the video. And I really don't see how it knows what you want to say when you type without the keyboard on screen. Seems to me there are too many words that are the same letter count but it looks really promising.
It's a standard keyboard.... however it is extremely forgiving with typing errors.
The demo shows wrong keys constantly being used and the keyboard auto corrects properly. Kinda along the lines like Swype does... except you still 'tap' to type, you don't swipe.
The cool thing is that you can set it so the keyboard does not pop up, but if you select to enter text it allows you to simply 'type' on the screen as if the keyboard was there and it still registers words. It's pretty wild. You can also type anywhere on the screen, not just on the bottom where the keyboard would be.
Basically you have to have the keyboard layout memorized, but most of us that sit on these forums have it down cold
