Blank sd card?

I was not using my phone and heard an alert. When I checked the phone it said " it was safe to remove sd card". Turned in and off, removed batt and card, called verizon and said this is a problem that had been happening. Tried everything to retrieve data but have lost all photos, videos, etc!. Had this happened too anyone else? Is they really no easy to get anything off the sd??

Yes I had this happen to me. Called Verizon and they send me a new SD card since mine had gone bad.
