Bionic not working after update

I hope I can get some assistence with a problem I am having. Last night I received the message to update to 4.1 and I installed the update this morning. After it installed and restarted the only thing on the screen was the top bar with the battery a signal icons. I hit the power button and was able to power down the phone. The several times since then when I have tried to turn it back on it only loads to the screen with the red eye (not sure what its called). I went over to a verizon store but the only suggestion the person had was to buy a new phone :serious:. The phone is basically stock, I have not done anything to it and I never had any real problems before or leading up to the update. Any ideas what may be the problem and what i could do to resolve it (besides buying a new phone)?

Thanks

You can try factory reset press and hold power and both volume buttons at same time then press volume down to get to recovery then volume up to select, then when green android guy pops up press both volume buttons and then scroll down to Factory reset using volume down button and power button to select hope this helps

I have experienced a similar problem. I tried to install the OTA and the phone hung up after rebooting on the bionic eye. I let it run all night but still hung. Turned off phone but still hangs on bionic eye. Tried clearing cache and factory reset but now phone hangs on the Motorola logo. Verizon store was no help. Tier 2 tech support tried some things but said they will have to send a replacement phone.

After the update I have several issues that are driving me nuts.

Missing texts messages
Sleep Mode gone
Auto space with browser not working
Gallery pics all disorganized
Phone and People apps not organized. Many duplicates and "(no name)" entries
Speed dial settings gone
Emergency contacts gone
Contact icons missing

Just to name a few.
