As the title says I'm changing some of the framework in my rooted Bionic. I was wondering if anyone knows the exact image to change the notification for G mail? I've changed the stat_notify_gmail icon a couple times and it keeps resorting back to native image. I'm using Ninjamorph to change icons. Any help would be appreciated.

You'll probably have to take apart the gmail app itself to do that. Afaik, framework only affects basic menus and system level notifications like USB and debugging. Could also be the blur-res.apk, but I'm not sure since I haven't looked at a motoblur framework apk for a while.

Sounds like it's going to be a little involved to change it. O well,
I got all night. Thanks.

Try changing the stat_notify_email in the GMail apk... likely suspect since the notification icon is controlled via GMail settings... and not thru setting your GMail account via the email apk in system.... just a guess

You were right. THANKS!!!! I had to dissect the Gmail.apk framework and found 3 stock images in 3 separate folders. Drawable-hdpi, drawable-hdpi-v9, and drawable-mdpi-v9 and also the framework-res folder.

well do see the G on an envelope, but not the GPS...
You might have been okay just putting the red G on the existing png... or use the app drawer icon reduced in size to 24x24... like my screenshot?

I redrew the envelope and did put a red G on it. I'll see if I can get a screen shot of the icons in action to post since I can't get them to load on here.

Don't forget to add transparency. Biggest mistake I made when messing around with my phone's framework and the battery icons, resulted in an annoying white border. It also means you'll need something like Ultimate Paint instead of MS Paint because MS Paint doesn't play nice with transparency.

I use Gimp for my photo editing. I'm still learning on it. It is basicly a free photoshop. Can do just about EVERYTHING! Thanks for the idea. I need to rework it a bit. This was my first time trying to work on the framework. Just starting out. Thanks for all the tips and ideas.
