Best Resource for learning how to make a Droid X ROM?

There's a lot of ROMs out there, for which I'm grateful, however the geek in me wants to play but I can't find any information about how you would go about building one from stock.

Any links would be great. Thanks!

I'd love to get creating a ROM soon also. I've got a techy itch that I just don't have time to scratch
