I've started listening to "The Tech Guy" podcasts which are free and I add his podcast "gadget" on my iGoogle home page. I just click on is podcast and start listening. I think Dave Ramsy podcasts are via paid subscriptions. But in any case I've heard "Doggcatcher Podcast Player" is good but cost $6.99. There are other free podcast players on the Market/AppBrain so download and see which one you like the best. Aloha and all the best.
My method is not automatic but works for me because I only listen to 2 or 3 a week. I create an internet bookmark to the archive or download page of the podcast and manually download. I use the mortplayer audio bookplayer from the market because it will create bookmarks and allow 30 second skips. I needed bookmarks because I never get to listen to 1 hr podcasts without an interim stop. Mortplayer also creates an auto bookmark when you stop.
I use google listen and subscribe to the podcasts I like to monitor the subject that week. Listen does not work as well as it used to for me because the skips are unreliable and I invariably touch something that messes up my position. Works well on my laptop though. I like how Google Listen works in sync with both the phone and laptop.
My old method used media monkey subscriptions with auto syncing, but I wanted to be able to function without my laptop.
I use Listen, have since spring and find it is fine and a good price. I don't like the queue feature and don't understand the way it goes to a seemingly random episode when it is done with one. I am hoping it will be improved.
