Best looking home replacement?

I've been using home++. Sure, live wallpapers is hit or miss and (I believe) you need to use an old, downgraded beta version to get it to work at all. And sure, I'm pretty positive Krazy's 24K is the only rom/theme/remix that has ever bothered to theme the thing. And sure, the app tray is probably the complete opposite of sexy. And sure, after seeing this thread I'm pretty tempted to try Sweeterhome again and really spend a weekend customizing it.

But!

I really like the swipe-able strip at the bottom. It's not completely customizable, but the dev has made a lot of pretty sensible short cuts- quick access to wifi settings or battery usage come to mind. And because they're shortcuts he himself has made, they all look cohesive and contiguous.

I've tried most of the launchers out there and the only one that has come CLOSE to being so smooth is the Home++. Of course, it's even smoother when you OC it to 800+. dancedroid

I've used Panda, GDE, dxTop, SweeterHome, Helix 1 & 2 and Home++. They all have their good points. Currently I'm using Helix 1.

To the OP, I suggest trying them for yourself as what works for others might not work for you.

Also (I apologize if it was suggested earlier) I suggest you get a app called Home Switcher. This will allow you to make an easy change from home to home. You have the option of making one a default, but you can also just launch a home. That way you can try it out, but if it's causing problems, pressing the "Home" button will take you back to your default.

Panda was good, but then got a little buggy (slow,etc.). I bought GDE (plus beautiful widgets) and love the transitions and that fact that I could add different themes, including the Hero (my favorite). Phone started to lag. I eliminated the culprits (Lookout Virus scan and Apps Organizer). Phone processing improved, but still a little lag and had problem answering my phone.

I am now using Helix. It is a great looking replacement app. I especially love having ability to designate 4 shortcuts to remain on every page. So far, so good. I've read some posts here and agree that you need to try them out and choose the one you feel meets your needs. Good luck!
