best free video converter for droid 2

I like to watch movies on my d2 however I have not been able to find a good converter for my avi files. Do any of you have any good ideas on which free converter to use? Sorry if the question is posted anywhere else I must of missed it.

I don't know of any good convertors to get them to MP4 format, but I believe RockPlayer will play .avi files

The default player plays avi files. I don't have any other player but I have several avi's that it plays just fine.

AVS Video Converter is awesome, it has a profile for the Droid I find using Rockplayer the best instead of the built-in player to avoid audio sync issues.

I have been using it along with AnyDVD HD to copy my Bluray movies onto my R2-D2 (after adding a 32GB card).

When I connect my D2 R2D2 to my computer for the first time to move a vid to the microSD memory it launched an webpage that took me to Verizon to install drivers and download a Motorola media manager. That would covert the video however it aborted because I am running a 64 bit Win 7 Ultimate and the program will not run on a 64 bit system. So I am looking for the same thing.

Don't bother with that Verizon junk, it won't run on my system either.

It is super easy to just copy files with Windows and I prefer WinAmp now that they have wireless tranfers.

I use arc media player and I don't convert my videos. It plays divx excoded avi files no problem.

i can get my d2 to play avi with stock players. I will try again. if it won't work I will try some of the app suggestions. thanks
