battery

Talk time is only 10 hours so that's probably only around 3 or 4 of screen time

My phone is supposed to last 9.6 hours of talk time and I get two and a half hours of screen time on 30% percent brightness

Is the razr really really that bad though
No, the battery life on the Razr is not all that bad. I would easily get from 16-18 hours out of my Razr with at least 40% battery left at the end of the day. With moderate use and some good battery management...turn display off after 30 seconds, display brightness down to about 30%, limit the amount of background data sync's (weather, news, etc), power phone off before charging and use only the supplied charger, turn wifi, gps and bluetooth off unless actively using them, instead of syncing email every 5 minutes have it sync once every 30 minutes or something like that.
