I'm on a rooted D4 running GB 2.3.6 and nothing special on it at all. This program, com.motorola.home.message, shows up on my battery log as using upwards of 25% of all battery use everyday. When I click on it the "Included packages" list has:
Social Status
Sticky Note
Toggle Widgets
Manage SIM card
Social Networking
IM Presence
News
Weather
Date and Time
Backup Assistant+ Contacts
Universal Inbox
Bookmarks
Homescreen
There is nothing on that list except maybe Homescreen depending on what that means, that I use very often. Is this program an essential part of the phone? I don't remember seeing it when I was on the OG DROID and honestly I don't think this was running on my D4 until recently. At the very least it wasn't using this much juice before. The fact that it has "motorola" on it leads me to believe it's suppose to be there and was probably always there. Can someone shed some light on what it actually does? Thanks.
