Barnacle Wifi-Tether vs Normal Wifi-Tether?

I like the fact that I have the ability to do it. Will it become a primary source of internet? Heck no. Though, it seems to be on par if not a tad faster than my current internet

My DROID is like a digital swiss army knife. The ability to tether a wifi connection off of it is perfect if / when I'm in a situation that I need to get on the net (via my laptop) and don't have access to a hotspot or something. With my job, that situation is very likely at times.

Just one more reason that I love my DROID. dancedroid

I use Barnacle (even though my computer totally crashed and wiped the os when i connected to it.....just a coincidence i hope) but they both work pretty much the same.

Very Strange...
BB 1.1 overclocked 1.0GHZ / LV / 7 Slot with Smoked glass Theme
When I am using the WiFi tether, if I leave the app and go back the upload and download stops updating. I am still using the web but no change in Upload/Download count. I have to "Kill" the tether and start again and everything is working.

..

i use wifi tether, no real need to go elsewhere. use a basic wpa password setup. i have found that after setting it up with the ssid and keys that you want, to reboot the phone to make sure all is well with it.

only issue i have ever run into is the progress spinner only seems to work the first launch but that is minimal. no issues with functionality.

a buddy at work switched to barnacle and raves about it, so ill eventually try it out and write about my eperiances. seems they are about the same, and for my OCD needs, the wifi tether app lists further down the alphabetical app drawer - a huge plus for me :D
