Backup help

I am going to switch to a 2.1 ROM and had a few questions..

exactly how does the astro app backup work. like how do i restore them once upgraded..

also.. i have the swype beta version.. will this give me problems when i try to install it again

You should get Mybackup Pro, or titanium backup. My backup will backup all ur sms, email, and what not. And u can download the fully functional 30 day trial from the market. Just get that, run the backup, then install ur rom, then restore with mybackup
