Is there another way to get back to froyo instead of sbfing could I just download a file and manually install it

are you on gingerbread? if so then yes you will have to sbf.

I went from .595 back to froyo using the tbh monster zip in clockwork and am now happily ninjamorphing liberty 1.5.
