Auto dimming & brightness

I am so sick of my edge 's screen automatically dimming in low light.
No auto screen, day dream or any of the other screen options are being used.

anyone have a fix?

That is usually due to having auto screen brightness set. When you drop down your notification bar, is the auto box checked?

Nope.... never auto. It happens when the screen is maxed out and the lighting in the room is dark, it will dim automatically.

When in the sun or a ultra bright light it will go into extra brightness mode. I wish it would give the option for the ultra bright mode. But this stupid auto dimming drives me crazy

Very odd because if auto is off, the screen should stay on whatever brightness you have set it at.

I searched on the web and it seems to be a issue with all edges.
I'm going to have to test it out on my son's edge the next time I see him. I wonder if a future update will end up fixing it or if Sammy has it that way on purpose. I would send an email to Samsung explaining the problem. Not that they will have a fix but so they know it is not what the customer wants.

Any luck running some test?

No worries. Thanks. In case you didn't know how to test it, cover the front facing camera or hold it under a bright light.

Hmm, I'm not seeing it happen with mine, unless it is and I'm just not noticing. The only thing I am wondering is if power saving is on?

I am not seeing it happen with mine under the lamp in my house with auto on and off....I have noticed in direct sunlight the screen changes, I am not sure what setting makes it do that or if it can be shut off.
