Attachments are being removed

I'm new to the droid so go easy on me When I send a xls file to my phone it removes the attachment. Is there some sort of veiwer or app I need?

Any thoughts on this it also seems to do the same when I e-mail a picture to the phone

Make sure it's being sent to vzwpix.com rather than vtext.com (I made that mistake!)
