AT$T Note 8 is updating to oreo right now

ran across an article that note 8 is updating right now. Just checked my phone and am downloading at this very moment. It's a big file 1.5 gigs. was about to go out and get something to eat but not now.

go for it. no problems installing at all. no noticeable changes so it is mostly under the hood. It will take a few days before I will notice any affect it may have on battery usage.

Mine just started to download on its own... No warning or option to delay at all.... I'm still not happy about text tones not being customizable for contacts.... Guess I need to plug in and backup so I can FDR after the update.....

Did the update change anyone else's AOD clock after the update?

Edit: never mind it changed it as the one I had isn't available anymore.

On another note my reception seems to be better/stronger.

I'll bet Google killed the built in notifications to push their own app...

Also found using the new emojis in Tapatalk causes it to crash....

Well after finding I can't change my text tone at all I am doing an FDR. No matter what I changed the tone to it kind of played what it wanted... But never the one I chose... Sometimes it played the default... Sometimes the original one I had set.... We will see what happens after this.....

I am sick to my stomach!!!!!!!!! I just realized I backed up my phone data to my laptop but didn't back up my secure folder anywhere... I lost hundreds of pictures and files........ I am so so mad at myself....

not sure how you lost your pictures and files but there are apps out there that can help you recover. before doing anything else on your phone, try one of them. be honest, I cannot recommend any because I never used any. there are a few that have free trials, give them a try or maybe someone here can give a suggestion.

also check with your google account and samsung account and see if maybe they did a backup behind your back.

Files in the Secure Folder get stored on the device and encrypted all weird.... I don't think they can be recovered.... I didn't back up the Secure folder..... I am such a Schmuck...

Can you change your text notification tone? I am having all sorts of issues changing it and actually having it play what I want it too....... I am becoming very unhappy with this experience......

Never mind I am a bonehead.... I wasn't changing it in New Message section I was changing it under general.... Im a putz.... LOL
