Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 Coming to U.S. Stores in July for $499.99 & Up

Asus just announced that their Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 Android tablet will launch in U.S. retail store shelves on the week of July 16th. The new flagship Android tablet from Asus will debut at $499.99 for the 32GB model and $599.99 for the 64GB model. As usual their will be an optional dock available for the tablet that will likely retail for $149.99. Luckily, according to reports, if you already own the keyboard dock for the TF201, it will work with the TF700 as well.

Interestingly, even though this news is for the WiFi-only version, Asus is working on an LTE version as well. Even Best Buy has already gotten in on this action. Interesting news. IIRC when details of the TF700 leaked early in the year, they were supposed to be more expensive, higher-end tabs -- but they don't seem as much now. Basically in the same price range as the Prime (wifi version, anyway).

I'm a pretty happy owner of a 16GB TF101, but if I owned the TF201...I dunno, I think I'd be pretty P.O.'d right now. I'd definitely feel like the Prime was the ugly, unloved half-brother...passed over by the next sibling in line.

WAIT!!!! THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I FEEL! I have the Droid 3 and I feel like a piece of....

...garbage.
