Assigning individual ringtones, no longer works

Droid Razr ..

Since (or maybe before) the recent os upgrade, I can set a default ringtone, but when I try to do a special one for some numbers, I can select/preview the ringtone, but it does not save. I am not sure why it will not save.

the display list is the backup assitant view. I know I am missing something easy.

any ideas?

Delete contact and re-input contact then select ringtone for contact. This what Verizon told my dad today ans it worked. The Verizon Rep told him it was a known bug and they're working on a fix.
