Apps with access to Your Location, Network Communication and Phone Calls

When I clicked to install a game, this screen came up ....
This application has access to the following:
Your location
Network communication
Phone calls

It is the Christmas Tree free game. As cute a game as it is this time of year, I think it sounds like spyware.

I'd appreciate feedback from other users.

I'm very new at this, but it appears all the apps I've looked at thus far are letting me know if I download them they will have access to everything I have, including my 1st born and my dog. Why do they need to have access to all of my information?

No such thing as a free lunch? These are just like the free Facebook stuff that gets access to all of your info plus your friends' pages too.

Some apps have to depending on what they do...but games? Good question.

Are any of these access permissions really a problem

You see this a lot with free games (or any free app)....my best answer is because it uses your data connection to display the ads that sometimes scroll on the bottom or top of the screen.

These ads are what keep the game free.
