Apps removal

I have a Droid and it came with Facebook and Twitter. I don't use either and would like to remove them but I can find that option.
Am I missing something or is it part of the OS ?
I am not the most tech savvy and not going to ROOT my phone as I'll never need to use it in that way.
Music,pictures,talking,games,and such is about it

Sadly you would have to root to remove those two apps or anything else that came per installed.
