Apps not installing...

Is there a way to force install apps? I can install the fmradio apk, but the services apk won't install....it's an important part of the program though...

How are you installing it? I'm pretty sure you have to push it to system. I used terminal emulator.

Previously, when on stock rom and squidly, I just used root explorer to modify the permissions and it installed and worked fine...after clearing data and installing it the same way, the radioservice apk just won't install manually...currently running fission.

im trying to install bluralarmclock.apk and it wont install. I have moved it from my sd card to the system app folder and it shows up in there. Then i go to that folder in root explorer and click on it and press install. I keep getting the same "application not installed" message. I have also tried app installer to no success. any thoughts on how to make this work? Its a stock droid app so it should be easy!

Do you have the BlurAlarmClock.odex file in the /system/app ? You need both to install.

yea the app installer app isnt working for this for some reason as i mentioned before. I have now moved both the bluralarmclock.apk file and the bluralarmclock.odex file to the system/app directory and still getting the same "application not installed" message. Any other ideas?

Only other thing I can think of, I just checked mine with root explorer and the file date is 12 dec 10 the file size for apk is 1516722 and odex is 141680.

if yours is different, you may have the files from the 2.2 which will not work on 2.3, if that is the system installed on your phone.

If that is not it, I would ask rescue squad for help.

True, but it's a zip file. I can give him the file he's looking for without having to fish through all those files.

Change the extension from doc to .apk and you should have it.

still the same thing, i must be doing something wrong here. I will just download an alarm clock app from the market, thanks for trying!
