Recently Samsung announced that their Note 3 along with some other devices would be region locked. This was not a popular announcement. This may be designed to get more phones off the grey market. Samsung said that the lock should only affect you when you are trying to active the device, but some have said that they are having issues more often. Devloper "Chainfire" has released a new app that seeks to solve this problem. LockAway does require that you be rooted.
