App checks for root, how to block?

So I just got 9 Innings 2013, and I played it last night. Now when I open it, I get a black screen and a message: "Device rooted! Shutdown app and open again after 'Unroot'!" Anybody have any ideas how I can disable the root check? I'm not a hacker, but I do have some programming experience. No Android development experience, tho. I would like to learn, but this is neither the time nor place for that.

The only way I can think of that might work is using the VooDoo Rootkeeper app - temp unroot before playing the game and restore root when done...

It does work. Temp unroot and reboot, and I can play my game. I wonder if there would be a way to block apps from performing a "rooted or not" check...
