Any apps like "automateit" or "llama" that are not location based?

What I mean is ideal like the ability to have the triggers=actions without the location polling in the background.

Or do those apps not check for location unless you add that specific rule?

You can use Timerrific to do some actions based on time.

Or does something like llama which uses cellular towers(which is not very accurate) use very little battery?

I use Tasker to turn on wifi when I'm near my home cell towers and turn it off when I'm not. It's also set up to automate several other things on my phone and doesn't use a significant amount of battery.

Checked out plug in launcher, nice and simple. Bought the pro version.

Tried Tasker, way too complicated for me.
