Here's an Android superphone of the future that would make James Bond drool. This gorgeous, no-holds-barred, ultra-bleeding-edge concept-phone was designed by Mobiado and Aston Martin (yes, the car manufacturer). They apparently wanted to exercise their creativity to its maximum and come up with a superphone that held nothing back in terms of technology and features. It's simply called the CPT002 for now. Here's a rundown of some of what this beast is intended to have "under the hood":
  • Its case design suspends a transparent sapphire crystal capacitive touch screen between two platinum bars that house the processor, battery, SIM card, etc.
  • It can lock and unlock your car as a proximity fob
  • The phone will interface wirelessly with social media websites like Facebook & Twitter to help you locate the friends you're meeting or automatically update them on the progress of your road trip or track day.
  • It's also designed to allow the car to access the phone's accelerometer to help prepare for an impending crash.
The transparent screen design is not too far off, but it will be interesting to see how soon battery and chipset technology miniaturizes to the point where this phone is possible. What do you guys think?

What the hell is the accelerometer going to do for your phone when you crash an Aston Martin? That thing is going to crumple like foil and if you're going a decent speed your phone will smash through your windshield anyway. Glad they are making use of that feature. I wonder if it'll make it so when they pry your dead body, the can see the car's last words were through your phone: "Oh SH#%!!!! Weesa gonna crash!"

That is sooo Awesome, if they build that and Charge 5000 dollars for it, rich people will buy them faster than Rolexes!

I love cars and I love technology, best of both worlds!

But it better be LTE! :o

If they can make that work, it shows how much manufactures are *****-footin' around right now when it comes to pushing tech to the edge. I love it when stuff like this comes out and makes them look bad. :)

Way better than the Vertu phones with diamonds on them. You could say "I'm going Platinum with my next phone" and it would be true! Ridiculously awesome, I really like the see-through screen, but it would make it hard to find the phone if you lost or dropped it somewhere, I guess that's why the platinum bars are there..

Looks nice, but will it be compatiable with the "Walk and Text" app? The legitimate one, not the pirated malware version. I needs me some walk and text!!

Looks cool but I have a hard enough time keeping the finger prints off of my single-sided touchscreen with this you get twice the finger print smudging pleasure! haha! Unless they have also solved the finger print smudge problem with this technology. However, I would point out that the person holding the device in the photo is wearing gloves. ;)

Some of these advancements are more "eye-candy" and aesthetics then they are practical improvements. Don't get me wrong, a little aesthetics goes a long way but they really need to focus on making the UI more cohesive and responsive as well as making the batteries in smartphones last a lot longer.

... as well as making the batteries in smartphones last a lot longer.

Bingo, I've been beating that dead horse for years now. But if that device actually works with the sides containing a battery somehow, then they must be using something we don't have in the current market because 1/5th of our battery wouldn't fit with all the other tech in those two little strips. No. Way.

And you would never have one of those phones if it existed. It would be out of the price range of most people.
