I have been religiously checking for the Android 5.0 update for the past two weeks multiple times per day. My phone is downloading the update as I type this. Has anyone else been pushed the update yet?
I've seen "Soak test" invites going out, but not the actual update. Also, nobody has either confirmed or denied that this is the Lollipop update. Some say it's just an incremental KitKat update. Please let us know.
Liking it also. Only thing I don't like is the lock screen. I have mine set to pattern. But for some reason when I have to swipe to unlock then enter my pattern to unlock. Unlike before it would go straight to pattern.
I have seen a significant increase in battery life. You can see from about 80% it's lasted 9 hours with over 3 hours of screen on time. Normally I'm down this far from 100% in the same period of time. Can't wait to see how it performs tomorrow after a full charge.
After initially having an increase in overall battery life, I've noticed my battery draining much faster than normal. I've never seen Ring Central (an app I use for work) use this much battery before. I'm assuming it's a compatibility issue with the new OS. Other than that, no issues to report so far.
Edit: I should add I have not opened ring central since Tuesday, and have rebooted the phone at least once since then.
People are reporting battery draining issues with 5.0. I do notice a decrease in battery life. I think in the next few months Motorola will workout the bugs for it.
Glad to see a stock flashlight app. I have a 3rd party app right now, but I only plan to put the essential apps on my X. It should be here in another week from Moto.
I have a question for the Moto X 2014 community. When you received 5.0 Lollipop was the stock E Mail app disabled? I saw a report on another forum that for some phones the stock E Mail app is removed (disabled) with Lollipop and it will be for the Moto X 2013 when it gets Lollipop soon. Thanks.
