Android 2.2 - Froyo

Windows 7 is FAR from just being Vista. Vista absolutely sucked. Windows 7 is not too bad.

Windows 7 is Vista, just so you know. And I can tell you they DID get that right.

Windows 7 is Vista with a shiny finish.

But no, there are no problems with either. People just believed what the idiots told them. Just because you don't understand how to operate a computer doesn't make it a bad OS. /facepalm

As for Google, keep on keeping on.

Here is a stupid question. I rooted my Moto Droid and am now about to install Bugless Beast...Will doing this become obsolete once FROYO comes out and I will have to revert to 2.1 and go from there?

Thanks......

Hey, hey, hey here's my off topic Vista input...lol

It runs so good for me, (Vista 64) I had Win 7 when it launched....and I haven't even installed it yet....Vista just had some bad press that it never recovered from.

I hated Vista cuz early on it kept wiping out my MBR of a triple boot setup I had. (a sleep/hibernate error) I decided to try it one more time to get ready for 7...and I have yet to install 7. I have it dual booted with XP Pro since the middle of last year, MBR still intact. (but my main OS is XP Pro) Win 7 is just Vista tweaked and some extra UI stuff added. Most of the tweaks MS put on 7, most folks did with Vista already on their own. The updates for Vista made it a decent OS.

Now...I would hope Froyo be on the new phones coming out in June or July. It makes those phones that more enticing.

Don't know about W7 but I do agree that there is nothing wrong with Vista other than as you said people who don't understand how to operate or people that upgraded on a system that was not designed for Vista or trying to run software that was not designed for Vista. I bought a Dell Vostro laptop with Vista and it has been flawless for two years now.

Wrong. W7 is Vista with all the kinks worked out and everything working like it should.

Vista WAS a POS. I work with computers every day and I never wanted Vista on my machines. XP was great and 7 was great but Vista was crap.

If you think that I have a bridge to sell you..... Win 7 is no where close to vista.

Not, its really not. Its the difference between ubuntu 9.10 t0 10.04.

There are incremental updates to to kernel, just like in GNU/Linux.

That would be like saying that ubuntu 10.04 is the same as 9.10 because they are so similar. Surface changes are't what makes an OS different.

Ya, windows 7 on top of vista is same as windows xp on top of NT. Not the same OS, just built on same source.

Either way, Even though we had to wait two months for the official update, still quicker than MS and in some ways quicker than apple. Still no one remembers the update delay in 2009 by apple, then the update came without mms? We did not have a glaring omission like that. And two updates in 5 months is pretty aggressive. Here's hoping the features we want are in 2.2.

Actually it's closer to server 2008 then vista.... kernels don't' mean much either when it comes to windows..... It's night and day simular to win mill and win xp....

If my windows remark caused this to go off topic I'm sorry. Can we get back on topic now?

sure. It should be safe for you to say "I'm going with the crowd for a june release even though I did hear from a somewhat unreliable source that they thought ... X ". That way if they are right you reported good news and if they were wrong we were warned :)

I agree, bluetooth voice activation is a big piece of missing functionality. I'd think as a phone and tool that was more important than Flash support would be. No doubt Flash has broad appeal for entertainment but for bluetooth users it is a stickler. It made a friend turn his phone back in within the 30 day trial period back in November.
