Android 2.2 - Froyo

I believe Motorola has got Froyo but to put it on the Verizon Moto Droid they are going to need time to disable tethering, Wifi Hotspot, then it will be released.

It is pure speculation to say that they will disable those features. I am not saying they definitely won't but they seem to have learned their lesson about crippling phones and have not taken any major features out of the android os as of yet.

They do also sell other smartphones that include wifi hotspot functionality.

If anyone will be taking the wifi hotspot and/or tethering out, my guess is it will be Verizon. From what I've heard in the past, Verizon isn't really a fan of you tethering without paying their $30/mo tethering fee. At least that's what I heard while I was still a Blackberry user.

Almost makes you wonder if people are just babbling in this thread in the hopes of competing with the old 2.1 thread. 3 pages of real information, 5 pages of valuable opinions, and 200 pages of pure randomness lol ;)

is the simplify media streaming capability going to come with froyo? or will it be added later? i thought i saw something about it but cant find it now.

Because this site doesn't allow me to edit in this section (epic I know right?) I must post yet again so as to correct my spelling. I spelled looter incorrectly.
For your troubles here is gif to entertain you.

I'm already paying $30.

Place a 10Gb limit on the thing and let it roll .... Or bundle it, because I already pay for VZ DSL as well, and Phone ... and Directv because fios isnt here.

Just gimme the thing already.

Everyone:

It's a daily battle to keep this thread on topic because people seem to feel the need to publish a bunch of irrelevant pictures and make off topic comments. We realize that there is talk about rooting that doesn't belong in here, talk about silly stuff.

If you come here and you see something like that report the post so we can take care of it..

Now please stay on topic, there is a lot of information in this thread. And if you need to ask a question ask it, don't be afraid. In threads like this we are going to see repeat questions.

Wow. Is this thread indicative of all other threads on this forum?
I joined to find USEFUL information and all I have seen is whining, smart-ass remarks and folks getting entirely too butt-hurt over nothing.

Yep, this is my first post. Flame away...:icon_eek:

No flames.

Well, it started out just fine and I checked back from time to time to see if anyone had any more "information" on 2.2. Now it has degenerated into what we have now. I'll just wait for the thread that says "OTA update just gave me 2.2!".

-shrugs sholders and walks away-
