Android 2.2 - Froyo

It would be nice if we could get a real date of when it will be released for the Droid. Motorola's statement "in the near future" doesn't give any idea of the time period. It could be days, weeks or months. Maybe someone can take the Nexus 2.2 and make it usable on the Droid.

its actually alot better then we got with 2.1 verizon and moto made us hang out therefor a while until gave us a hint but you know how that went lol

realistically they couldn't say for sure when they would release it unless they were done. would you like an email the day before it comes to your phone?

Its great how he's the only one who has this. Dangling it above people's heads...kinda lame. Why not share this with the rest of the community? Seems a little selfish.

I'm pretty sure that a big corporation like Motorola has a general idea of how long it would take to release. They could probably decipher whether "near future" means a few weeks or a few months.

LOL I just converted an AT&T store rep to probably switch to verizon. I went to get screen covers and we started talking about phones, i was showing him my rooted droid and he loved it. Then I told him about Froyo coming and he was sold.

what if they say one week, then find a problem and have to delay. do you actually believe people on here would be ok with that. everyone would be complaining and wanting to burn motorola to the ground. remember what happened when that idiot put on his blog when 2.1 was coming out. motorola said oops and many people *****ed and whined constantly.

There IS. 2.2 doesnt come with Flash. If you WANt it you can download it. If not, you dont have to. Its a market app for 2.2 only.

it is optional to add. right now flash is a beta and not the actual release.

They must allow you to turn it on selectivly for individual websites,no?

I'm wondering ... what will Froyo do Swype? Will Swype work after the upgrade?
