Amazon has announced GameCircle, a new cloud based service that developers can integrate into their games for Kindle Fire. GameCircle is an API that allows developers to add cloud based game save syncing, leaderboards, and achievements to games on Amazon's Kindle Fire. Amazon’s Vice President of Apps, Paul Ryder, stated:
Our goal is to give developers great tools to quickly and easily reach new customers and keep them engaged. That’s why we’re creating easy-to-integrate APIs for features like leaderboards, achievements and sync. GameCircle gives developers the right tools to build an immersive, more entertaining experience on Kindle Fire, which will ultimately help developers grow their business.
A few developers are already checking out Amazon's new service, such as Imgangi Studios (Temple Run) and Spry Fox (Triple Town), with more expected to follow. Check out Amazon's announcement video for GameCircle above and let us know what you think in the forums.
