Activating the Phone

Hi guys,

I live in Canada. I bought a D2G from ebay and just received it in the mail. When I turned the phone on, I got a message saying that I need to activate my phone.

"A special call needs to be made to activate your phone service. "

When I press the button to activate the phone, I get a message:

"Phone Activation not supported on this network."

1. I am guessing that I need to be on the Verizon network in order to activate phone right?

2. If so, is there any other way to activate this phone?

Please help.

what happens if you place foreign SIM in the phone - is it still asking for activation?

Yeah.. when i put a foreign sim into it, it says something like along the line of " activation cannot be done on this network"

k... nevermind.

I didn't put the sim card into the phone correctly, so it wasn't detecting it.

The unlocked D2G is now working properly with Rogers in Canada.
