For our next Mobile World Congress story today, we have the Acer "Liquid Glow" smartphone, which had a press release late last week. The new device received a hands-on video from the guys at Phandroid. The phone is said to have a pleasant feel and size to it. (It only has a 3.7-inch screen, but for those turned off by the larger screens, that is not a bad thing.) Apparently, this phone is aimed at the mid-range to budget crowd, and is designed to be light and compact. Here's a recap of the specs:
  • 3.7-inch screen
  • 1GHz processor
  • 5MP camera
  • LED Flash
  • 3.5mm headset jack
  • 1GB RAM
  • 512MB ROM
There is no word yet on pricing, availability and carrier, but we should know something more in the coming weeks.

I'm confused. At first I figured the name 'Liquid Glow' would have some cool lighting effects on it or something since they picked a weird name like that. Then after reading the specs and the guy says the phone is gonna be about 250 Euro?! That's like $330 or something... Maybe his price was off but that seems crazy high (assuming he means contract price) for the mediocre specs. Not bashing the phone because there always needs to be the mid level? phones out there, just confused.
