Accidently deleted text messaging out of my system file

ok so i can't find my text messaging in my system file i believe it accidently got deleted and ultimate backup won't restore it correctly i still have the launcher icon but when clicked it loads then backs out before i can do anything..... can some1 plz help!!!!!!!!!!!

what rom you running?

well .. if you have root explorer you can do this .. download a rom. open the update zip file. pull the mms app out of it. go to root explorer system/app . mount system/ap paste the MMS ap there change permission to 644 and reboot and you should be good to go.

i have super manager and have the apk and odex back in my system apps but when i go to install the apk file it won't install. how do i change permission?
