Accidently deleted Google Calendar on LG Optimus ME P350 2.2

Hi folks,

while getting rid of pre-installed apps I accidently removed the files belonging to Google Calendar on my LG running Android 2.2.
Suceeded to find a working "com.android.calendar.apk" on the web but I cannot find the obviously necessary "com.android.providers.calendar.apk".

Any ideas how to get this file back? Seems to be that only newer versions are around.
And - no, I did not do a backup beforehand (shame on me, I know).
Help is much appreciated!

Cheers,
Ralf.

Welcome to the forum

It might be easier to just install a new calendar app, that may end up better than the default app anyway. Try Pocket Informant, or Business Calendar. There are many more out there that all sync with the Google calendar.

Thanks for the welcome.
I tried Business Calender but it cannot find any calendars. As far as I learned, some of the Google Calendar files are needed even by third-party apps.
Please correct me, if I am wrong.

Not that I'm aware of. In Business Calendar did you go to settings, calendars and select the calendar to use?

2.2

Thanks, leeshor.
Problem is - the Calendar app in the play store is for Android >4.0.2.
I am still running on 2.2 ...
Not quite sure if I can find legacy apps somewhere (not successful up to now).

There are other decent calendar apps on the Store, wish I could be more help. It sounds like you are rooted which would have been the way you deleted the app in the first place so someone may be able to suggest how too get the original ROM back.

Right, just wanted to get rid of some pre-installed apps. Obviously too eager...
Getting back to original ROM would be great.

Solved!
I did a firmware update via LG software interface.
Cluddered application list but calendar back working.
Thanks for your kind help!
