i tried that but it keeps giving me an error when i get to 4% on the updating part of it

What is the error you are getting? You downloaded the JB CAB file correct?
You can try Verizon... they may offer a replacement.

This is why the dev community gets so much hatred from vzw..... Bricking a phone because you rooted it is not grounds for getting a warranty replacement. You rooted it, you deleted necessary files, you should fix it or pay for a replacement.

The error messages are usually linked to bad downloads. Check the md5.....

if i remember correctly it gave me an error saying that its having problems connecting with the device

Verify you have the proper use driver I stalled and are using a good cable.

make sure you have the phone in USB debugging and connection set to internet share and ethernet.
