Be careful updating your abcorganizer. they've changed the name to folderorganizer and when you update it deletes your whole setup!! rarrrr

just the most awesome folder organizer out there. it lets you customize any icon or rename for your apps as well as folders. it has many many many great benefits :D you should check it out tigger! right now i'm just mad becuz i had almost everyone of my applications changed and now they're all back to stock and all my folders are empty! grrrrr i wrote the dev (poor guy) lol

there's folderorganizer, folderorganizer lite and apps organizer. i have the folderorganizer f/k/a abcorganizer.

long press on any application or folder to get options. you can also delete the folder names they use if you want and make your own.

Perhaps in the paid version, Corinacakes, (though that seems odd) but in the "lite" version I have my original setup is still there. Are you sure you're not having a different problem?

P.S. It did take me awhile to find where abcOrganizer had gone when I updated, though.

? Sorry Cornicakes but I updated last night (paid/full version) and everything was preserved, don't know what happened with yours. Do you have a save that you can restore from?

IMO, Titanium Backup is MUST, it can backup/restore app data and settings.

Ok ya'll i guess it just wasn't my day :rofl3: i did have a backup but that really threw me lol

Just a note to say that the app (whatever it might be called) is a great way to organize groups of related applications while reducing the amount of real estate consumed on your homescreens.

The setup UI is very well done, enabling the user to organize from the top down (i.e. which apps should be in the folder) or the bottom up (which folders should an app be in). And since it allows you to associate unique icons and names with the folders, the result can be a very intuitive and unique interface.

I suspect there are alternatives that I haven't investigated, but I replaced the GDE "application docks" that took up an entire row of screen real estate with the single icons provided by "folder organizer."

P.S. Though I don't use the facility, it supports the same organization for contacts and bookmarks.

I run Apps Organizer, which appears to be from the same developer. Does anyone know what the difference is between Apps Organizer and Folder Organizer, besides Folder Organizer having a paid version? How are the features different?

Thanks!

As far as I can tell, "AppsOrganizer" is for applications only. Folder organizer (previously known as abcOrganizer) adds functionality for organizing contacts and bookmarks. (I suspect that AppsOrganizer was an early version of the developer's work and he simply created a more comprehensive app when he added the other features.)

P.S. abcOrganizer seems to refer to Applications/Bookmarks/Contacts. Get it? Have to say that the developer's penchant for renaming and repackaging his apps is somewhat confusing.

it IS a great app, i've had it since day one and can't imagine the droid without it. folder makes things so much easier but i hate the stupid folder icon and bettercut doesn't let you change folder icons. folder organizer is the solution.

my ONLY gripe with it is speed... it can take a second or 2 or 3 to load (as compared to folders which seem to be instantaneous).

i would probably opt for simply using folders if i could change the icons, but since that's not he case, this works wonders.
