5mp Droid 2 Camera But pictures Come Out Fuzzy And Only Just Over 1mp

I have a droid 2 with 5mp on camera but my pics come out fuzzy and say they are only taken with just over 1mp I have tried changing settings but does not work?

Sorry to ask a dumb question, but are you using digital zoom?

On older Moto devices when you zoom you loose MPs. This happens on the X and Pro, but doesn't on like the Bionic.
