500k Smoke detectors recalled

Normally I won't post about recall notices but this one is a biggie. Almost 500k Kidde smoke detectors recalled. Sold at most major retailers from Walmart to Menards to Amazon. They also had 40 million home fire extinguishers recalled back in November. Just realized I have one of those.

Kidde has recalled almost 500,000 dual-sensor smoke detectors in the U.S. and Canada because a manufacturing malfunction can compromise the devices' ability to detect smoke.

Oh thank God. I just replaced every freaking smoke detector in the house on Daylight Savings weekend...and they weren't that model.

don't you know, you are only supposed to replace the battery on daylight savings, not the whole detector

seriously, glad it wasn't the recall ones, that would have been a pain
