3g mobile hotspot - computer remote desktop connection

I bought the Droid2 for the mobile hotspot.

I cannot us my netbook nor laptop to remote desktop connection to the server at work.

I changed security from wpa to wep since reading the apple problem but no help.

Suggestions?

You have to pay for being able to use the hotspot. It isn't included in the phones data pack.

I have paid for the mobile hotspot.

The problem is only on remote desktop connection, it does not connect.
