3G frequency

I was messing around at work and set my phone at the end of a spectum analyzer and found that the 3g frequency is at 842MHz and my call signal was around 838MHz. Wouldn't they be the same?

I also found the call signal around -56dBm and 3g around -42dBm.

I also noticed that putting an N type cable up to the back of my phone gave me more bars. Weird.

you dont need 3G to make a voice call so i figured they were separate frequencies to start with

That was my impression too, but I dont know.

Also, you're only off by 4Mhz, might want to consider measuring error....

I want sure but now I know. Couldn't get 1x frequency though.

Well part of my job is to calibrate them so i'm pretty sure its accurate. Each signal spans about 2MHz. Not sure any of this is useful but for s&gs anyway.
