3500mah battery

I recently purchased a 3500mah batter and it says its "unable to charge non-supported battery". I have a feeling this is due to me being rooted and running 2.2 but I cant seem to find any information about how to fix the problem... any ideas?

we have to wait for the kernel source codes to be released for Froyo before that hack can be enabled in the kernel....just be patient

Thanks. Out of curiosity, will the source code be released along with the official OTA update or separately?
