I have a new PNY 32 GB external SD card which mounts to /mnt/sdcard-ext. But occasionally the phone doesn't mount it. When I take the card out of the phone and examine it on a PC, the Windows SD card formatting software informs me that the card isn't formatted. That's also the case with gparted under Linux. At that point I format the card as FAT32 and restore the files from a backup which lasts for about a month before I have to repeat this cycle.
Does this mean that my card is damaged? Is 32 GB "too big" for the phone? Is there any way I can format my card in a "lasting" manner so that it will reliably mount?
Thanks for any insight you can provide.
