2 questions regarding internet connection.

Hello, I'm here to ask a question regarding my data plan and WiFi connection. First is, how do i turn off my internet data plan on my phone temporarily so i can test if my WiFi connection works. The second one is, will using WiFi connection affect my data plan usage? In other words, if i was watching youtube videos, or perhaps downloading apps through the app market, will it be using up my data plan if i was connected to the WiFi?

I'm using a Droid X, via Verizon Data plan.

No, being connected to wifi doesn't affect your data usage.

I'm using a Droid X, via Verizon Data plan.

You can turn on airplane mode. That will disconnect everything 3G, Wifi, etc. Then turn on WiFi. But really, you will see if you are using the data plan on your 3G because there is an icon (3G with some arrows pointing up and down) that appears on your notification bar when you are sending/receiving that way.

WiFi connection will not effect your data plan usage. Verizon has a widget that shows you how much data you are using if you want to keep track.
