2 day with a droid.

Newbie here. My first and only smart phone, Droid Incredible. Got it on new years eve. Also am new to this forum thing so if I am doing anything wrong, Sorry. I got the app and widget things kinda down but what is Rooting and what is it for?
I also don't know what this tag thing is either under this box so I will tag with 1230.

Welcome, rooting just gives you full access to the file system on your phone, to do what you want.

Do a lot of reading before attempting anything

If you are considering rooting I suggest that you read as many different threads as you can. Make notes and if you have questions post them. Then, if you decide to root the community will be here to assist if you have problems
