2.2.2 for D2G?

Hello. I purchased a Droid 2 Global last week. Within a few days I began experiencing the SMS problem of messages going to the wrong recipients, something that I've since seen across many forums. As I was researching it, I noticed a press release that Froyo 2.2.2 was being pushed onto the original Droid and that it would fix this problem, along with another SMS problem (New OTA Update Bringing FRG83G to the Motorola Droid for Verizon Starting Today | Android Phone Fans). I was unable to find if there was any fix for the Droid 2 Global on the way. If there is, is there an estimated date? The issue is really driving me nuts, and I'm trying to decide whether I should return my phone to Amazon Wireless while I still can to see if a replacement D2G would not have the problem, or whether an update should arrive quickly.
