.181 and battery life

Mine too. With every update the battery life has gotten worst. On the plus side I haven't had any 3G or 4G drops. I was able to use FoxFi uninterrupted for 3 hours last night. I usually get the "mobile data signal lost" A LOT. So this update is bittersweet.

I have also noticed that it has gotten a bit worst since the update I used to get a good 8 hrs without a charge performing basic tasks like checking email and facebook every now and then and now I'm lucky if I make thru 6.5 hrs...

My battery life is great. The day I got the update I user my phone up until it died. Then I charged it completely. Now I get an extra 2 to 3 hours of battery life.

Mines alot worse. I went from 30% battrry to 7% in an hr. And just textin with data turned off

Just installed the up date today so I don't have enough time to make a better judgment but it certainly isn't worse. The only thing I've noticed is 3g/4g shows a lot higher signal strength.

A number of factors like what apps you have installed when you get the OTA can have a bearing on how it effects your individual phone.

I'm not sure if this will help but it has helped other users who have reported worse battery life after the last update. Power your phone off and put it on the provided charger overnight or until fully charged. Then reboot and monitor battery. This simple step has help others...I have no idea why.

You might also try a soft reset...hold down volume down button and power button for about 10 seconds until the phone reboots. It will reboot into normal operations but the process is similar to a battery pull.

I have done both... Soft reset a few times, full charge with power off then use to 15 %, then power of til full charge again. Will see how battery does this round. Only get 12-16 hours now. Was getting 24-30 hours before update. I keep 4g off almost always because not in a 4g area. Wifi is usually on, turned off when not available. Will keep trouble shooting. Hoping not having to do a factory reset.

For all you guys complaining about this phone y'all need to stop, please. This phone has awesome battery life. I am rooted with stock ROM, its the best way to go in my opinion. I use task killer app, smart action app and juice defender. My battery is really good. Give it a try you might just like it.

It is not complaining, it is reporting problems in search of solutions. For some reason, for some people, their battery life got worse instead of better with the latest update even though everything else (smart actions, use, apps) remained the same. Most likely the difference lies in an app that behaves differently with the new update. But rather than reformatting and re-installing all your apps to find the culprit, it is hopeful that there may be an easier solution. Hence people post about their problem. It is one main purpose of this forum.

Btw, what task killer are you using, stock or market? You may want to disable it to see if there is any difference...you may find you get even better battery life. Curious to know if it does make a difference. Often times they make things worse.
